Theatr Colwyn

Subtitled April 25

Starring Hugh Bonneville, Michael Gambon and Gillian Anderson
Running Time: 106 minutes

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey / Notting Hill) stars alongside Michael Gambon (Harry Potter / Sleepy Hollow) and Gillian Anderson (The X Files / The Fall) in this story exploring the political conflict of independent India and the decision to divide the country and create a new Muslim homeland: Pakistan.

We are taken back to 1947 Delhi where Lord Mountbatten, great grandson of Queen Victoria and last British ruler of India, is charged with handing India back to its people. The film examines the events at Viceroy’s House through the prism of a marriage – that of Dickie and Edwina Mountbatten, and a young romance between a Hindu servant, Jeet, and his intended Muslim bride, Aalia, who are caught up in conflict with their own communities.

RSC Live: Julius Caesar (12A)

Live broadcast from Stratford-upon-Avon

Angus Jackson directs Shakespeare’s epic political tragedy, as the race to claim the empire spirals out of control.

Caesar returns from war, all-conquering, but mutiny is rumbling through the corridors of power.

The Rome season in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre opens with the politics of spin and betrayal turning to violence. Following his sell-out productions of Tom Morton-Smith’s Oppenheimer (2014) and James Fenton’s adaptation of Don Quixote (2016), Season Director Angus Jackson steers the thrilling action.

What Jess doesn’t know is that Chloe has not come to stay because she wants to get to know her mother again. She has come because she is scared that a supernatural curse has claimed the life of her boyfriend, Danny, and is now coming for her. Chloe and Danny made the mistake of revisiting an abandoned house, once home to ‘Ginger’, a mysterious old woman said by some to be a witch.
